Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd - Sale 9 November 2022
DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (November 9th) sold (434) weaned calves, store and 36 adult head of breeding cattle including 36 Highland and Highland crosses.   Bullocks (194) averaged 217.7p per kg (last year 205.5p) and sold to 310.5p per kg for a 190kg British Blue cross from 37 & 55 Sangomore, Durness and £1,230 gross for a 545kg Beef Shorthorn cross from Achavraat, Nairn.

Grants To Continue Support For Community Transport Initiatives Agreed But No Increases For Most
Community transport initiatives across the Highlands will have their grant funding extended for another year following a decision taken at today's meeting of the Economy and Infrastructure Committee.  This will allow the groups to continue the important role their play in their local communities.

PCS Strike Ballot Results: Massive Yes Vote For Strikes Across The Country
The legal turnout threshold of 50% has been achieved in many areas allowing for major industrial action.   The Public and Commercial Services union ballot for strike action in the UK civil service and related areas over pay, pensions, jobs and redundancy terms closed on Monday (7 November) and the ballot papers have now been counted.

Automatic Enrolment has helped millions put more into their pension pots than ever before, according to new figures released to mark 10 years since the policy was introduced.   In 2021, employees across the UK saved £114.6 billion into their pensions.

96% vote for strike action over pay.   Teachers and associated professionals across Scotland have voted overwhelmingly for strike action over pay, in a statutory ballot organised by the EIS.

Scotrail Improved Pay Offer To Go To Vote Of Rmt Members - Strike Action Suspended
ScotRail met with RMT representatives yesterday (Wednesday, 9 November) to discuss the ongoing pay dispute.  Following a meeting of the RMT's National Executive Committee today, ScotRail has reached agreement that its pay offer will be put to RMT members through a referendum.

Aslef Confirm Strike On 26 November, Impacting 12 Operators Not Scotrail
Aslef has announced that train drivers at 12 operators will strike for 24 hours on Saturday, 26 November in rows over pay.   The announcement came today, after the union confirmed that it was still waiting for an improved pay offer from employers, despite a series of long-running talks.
