The Scottish Government have made a flat rate pay offer of £2205 to all NHS staff on Agenda for Change pay grades - effective from 1 April.

There are other non-cash elements, however these are still being worked through by negotiators.

The offer came after UNISON, with all NHS unions, negotiators met yesterday (Thursday) and worked late into Friday morning (today). The final detail of the pay offer was received this afternoon (Friday).

UNISON is also in the middle of an official postal strike ballot on NHS pay, in which they are recommending their members vote for industrial action. The postal ballot closes on 31 October.

Wilma Brown, Chair of UNISON Health Committment said: "This offer is an improvement and the trade unions have agreed to think it through. We are sharing the details with NHS staff right now as they will decide whether this offer is good enough. UNISON Scotland's Health Committee will meet on Wednesday (26th October) to fully consider the detail of the offer and agree the next steps. UNISON believe that a flat rate offer will help all staff meet at least some of the cost-of-living crisis we are all facing. In the meantime, we are still urging all UNISON members to vote for industrial action in our postal pay ballot which closes on 31 October."
