The main focus will be on MDP employing new recruits. However, there is also a limited opportunity, if you’re a qualified Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) from another Force, or would like to train as an armed officer to apply accordingly. We can offer you a wealth of options for your future. Whether you come to us as a new recruit or transferee from another Force, you’ll be able to specialise your skills and really define your contribution.

WANT to help the Armed Forces without actually signing up? Then a role in the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) could be for you.

As a civilian police force it provides armed security, counter terrorism, uniformed policing and investigative services to the MoD.

The MDP is looking to recruit around 300 officers a year. Jobs are open to anyone with the right skills but often
attract ex service personnel looking to develop their career.

The MDP sponsors new recruits to undertake the police diploma and provides in-house training.
