The 2013 figures released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority show that Wick John O'Groats airport had a good rise in numbers for the year.

Wick John O'Groats showed a 35% increase over 2012 to 2013. Passengers numbers were 24,976 and 33,639 respectively.

Wick has seen an increase partly due to the helicopter traffic since Chevron decided to use the airport as connection to some of their oil rigs. It remains to be seen if that will continue into the future. There is confidence that more traffic will be forthcoming and wick is well placed for more passengers as workers begin to come to work on contracts in marine energy for wind farms in the Moray firth and seas bed turbines in the Pentland firth.

The two busiest routes were Wick - Aberdeen and Wick - Edinburgh. The Aberdeen route saw an increase while the Edinburgh route had only a very minor increase.
