Job Help at Nairn for 16 - 24 Year-olds

12th May 2014

Employers back youth jobs event

Range of help on offer at Nairn Community Centre

Young people are being urged to come along to a ‘Jobs and How To Get Them’ event aimed at helping them into work, training or sharpen up their job seeking skills.

The free event has been arranged by a number of organisations who support young people in the local area and has been backed by employers and learning providers from across the region.

It hoped that local 16-24 year olds will visit Nairn Community Centre, King Street, on Wednesday 21 May where there will be practical advice and information on offer from 10am to 2pm.

One of the organisers, Skills Development Scotland’s Team Leader Jane Weir said: “We have been delighted by the support from employers who not only have recruitment opportunities, but who will also be happy to share what they are looking for on C.V.s, the qualities they want to see potential employees have and generally help young people improve their chances of employment.”

Jane and the event partners will have experts on hand to offer information and advice on training, activity agreements, college opportunities, work placements, volunteering opportunities, C.V. preparation, job searching and business start-ups.

“We want to cover the options for people who are looking for work, who are under employed, who want a change of job or who want to try something new or different and the great thing is that they can all find out more under one roof,” said Jane.
