Getting the Highlands working

24th January 2013

In the Highlands 2,134 people were supported by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) between April and September 2012.

These individuals accessed the careers information, advice and guidance services. There were also 802 new starts to SDS’s national training programmes.

Anthony Standing, SDS’s Head of Operations for the North region said: “From getting more young people in to ‘real life’ work experience placements to offering Modern Apprenticeships across a vast number of sectors, the people of the Highlands are benefitting from an ever improving range of services from SDS.

“We will continue to work with partners to ensure we develop programmes in response to the changing needs of people across Scotland.”
