New chief executive appointed at NHS Highland

NHS Highland is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Mead as its new chief executive.

Ms Mead will take up the post on the 1st of January following the resignation of Roger Gibbins who has been chief executive for more than 10 years.

Elaine has a clinical background having previously been a diagnostic radiographer.

Most recently she has been Chief Operating Officer with NHS Highland for the past five years.

She moved to Highland from Dorset in 2005 where she was Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive of the West Dorset General Hospitals NHST Trust.

She lives on the Black Isle.
