DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (December 16th) sold 93 MV accredited pedigree females at its annual show and sale.
The Beltex judge, Mr D. Douglas, Braes of Coulmore, North Kessock, awarded the Beltex champion to a Coningswick Jumbo gimmer carrying a single, from Messrs J. Scott & Partners, Fearn Farm, Tain, realising 450gns to Messrs I. & H. Anderson, Newton of Carnousie, Forglen, and the reserve award to a Brockies Lex gimmer carrying twins from Messrs M. & I. Bissett, Mariain, Evanton, realising 250gns to Mr J. Macaulay, Brabster Farm Cottage. Suffolk champion was awarded by Mr J. Ross, Ankerville, Nigg, to a ewe by Stockton Real Lucky carrying a single from Messrs H. P. Sleigh & Sons, St John's Wells, Fyvie, realising 400gns to Mr L. Dunn, 25 Fairmuir Road, Muir of Ord, with the reserve award going to a Glenho Royal Edition gimmer carrying a single, also from St Johns Wells, Fyvie, which realised 500gns also to Mr L. Dunn.
The Texel judge, Mr K. Ingram, Balloch View, Grange, awarded his Texel champion to a gimmer by Glenside Nugget, from Messrs C. & I. Angus, Oldfield, Thurso, realising 1200gns to the judge. The reserve champion was a Millar's Outstanding ewe lamb from Wester Moy Texels, Wester Moy, which realised 400gns also to the judge.
Ewe lambs: Texel sold to 400gns from Wester Moy Texels.
In lamb gimmers: Suffolk sold to 600gns from St John's Wells. Beltex sold to 450gns from Fearn Farm. Texel sold to 1500gns from Woodhead of Cairness, Fraserburgh.
In lamb ewes: Suffolk sold to 450gns from St John's Wells. Beltex sold to 260gns from Mariain. Texel sold to 320gns from Tri-deug, Watten.
