Help For Smaller Businesses - staff recruitment and retention

26th January 2009

Highlands and Islands Enterprise, in partnership with the Highland Employers Coalition are organising a series of short workshops throughout the region. The workshops are designed to focus around diversity in the workplace and are particularly relevant to small businesses and organisations who may be concerned about:

 Retaining their best people ?
 Recruiting the right staff ?
The legal risks arising from employment ?
 Staff absences increasing?
 Staff stress?
Not being seen as an employer of choice ?
Opportunities to open up new markets ?

Developing a diverse workforce can help with all of these situations! Whether you have started to develop equality policies or just don't know where to start - this event is for you.

With the stresses faced by the business community today we have organised each workshop to last only 2 hours.

The next event will be held in North Highland College, Thurso on the 4th February 2009 from 16.00 till 18.30. The key speaker is Ian Watson from Law at Work and he will provide an overview of the business benefits of a diverse workforce and also highlight some of the important legislative requirements surrounding recruitment and employment. The event will conclude with a buffet and opportunity to network.

If you wish to attend please book on line at http://www.keycs.com/events.asp or if you wish more information please contact the co-ordinator: Stewart.meikle[AT]btinternet.com or 01463 741836

We look forward to seeing you on the 4th February 2009.
