CASE Gets New Chairman
Community links are set to be further strengthened on the board of Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise (CASE) with the appointment of a new chairman. Former director on the board, Pat Buchanan will take on her new responsibilities today (Wednesday January 23), following the retirement of Jack Watson after 8 years.22/10/2001
HIE Standards Boost Business At The Station Hotel
A European funded initiative, aimed at helping accommodation providers upgrade their premises, is proving a real success for one Thurso business. The Station Hotel, which is owned by Pam and Stan Egan, has just attained a three star grading from Visitscotland (formerly the Scottish Tourist Board) after the couple spent £133,000 on a facelift for the hotel.15/9/2001

People in the far north who are thinking about starting their own business are being given the opportunity to get their venture off to a good start by signing up for a series of courses organised by Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise (CASE) under the Network-wide HIE Starts scheme. HIE Starts in an initiative which helps give new businesses support and financial assistance by providing a regular income over the first 12 months of trading - traditionally the hardest.15/9/2001
North Eyesore Gets Major Facelift
A north industrial estate which has lain derelict for years is set for a major overhaul and clean-up. The £341,000 investment is being made to the site at Janetstown on the outskirts of Thurso in a joint collaboration between Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise (CASE) and local firm JGC Engineering and Technical Services Ltd.29/4/2001
